Station of Art

The Art Stations owned by the Municipality of Naples and managed by ANM are the result of significant interventions in architecture and public art. World-renowned architects have worked on the project with the aim of enhancing public mobility.

Each station has its own stylistic feature designed according to the associated urban area. Le Mummarelle Napoli, aiming to promote the city's cultural heritage, has created a section entirely dedicated to the art stations!

The rate for a private organized tour (max. 30 pax) ranges from €170 to €290, depending on the duration and the language of the guide.

Garibaldi

Located near the square of the same name, in a single complex, surrounded by numerous commercial activities, it is considered a true masterpiece of architecture.

The interior is dominated by steel and large full-size mirrors. Moreover, static images of the artwork blend with moving images reflected from reality. Garibaldi station bears a strong resemblance to the style of the London Underground.
Toledo

Considered the most beautiful metro station in Europe, inaugurated in 2012, besides being an architectural marvel, it features numerous works of art!

To better understand the entire station, we'll proceed step by step:

1st: you can admire the perfect integration of the remains of the Aragonese city walls. The predominant color is black, which enhances the various mosaics present;

2nd: the color turns into a bright yellow reminiscent of Neapolitan tuff until reaching ground level, the sea level, characterized by spectacular mosaics of an increasingly intense blue;

3rd: on the platform level, the monumental oval mouth of the Crater de luz dominates;

4th: inside the gallery, you'll be surrounded by Robert Wilson's panels of the sea, titled "By the sea... you and me";

5th: the second exit of Toledo station in largo Montecalvario is enriched by other works of art, such as Oliviero Toscani's Human Race, part of a photographic study on the morphology of human beings.
University Station

Characterized by strong vibrant colors, it represents the information and languages of the digital era. Inside the station, we can see various keywords such as "network," "database," and "software."

At the entrance, we can notice three installations: Ikon Lenticular: a backlit lightbox with three-dimensional figures; Synapsi: a metal sculpture representing our synapses, capable of connecting our nervous system; Conversational Profile: four pillars representing two people conversing with each other.
Museum Station

It is housed in a building with Pompeian red plaster and Vesuvian stone, reminiscent of the National Archaeological Museum, located right next to it. It has 3 entrances, each featuring its own artworks to admire.

1st entrance: you cannot miss the Statue of Hercules Farnese, created by the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples. 2nd entrance: it features a monumental bronze cast of the horse's head known as "Carafa". 3rd entrance: you will be greeted by a bronze reproduction of Laocoön.
Municipio

The Municipio Station can be defined as the most challenging of the project, due to the numerous archaeological findings uncovered during the excavations. The stop is simultaneously a logistical and museum space, thanks to the discoveries of the ancient walls of Neapolis and remains from the Angevin period!

For the realization of the project, the artifacts were incorporated into the station, making it unique in its kind! Furthermore, outside, precisely in front of the Municipio building, we can admire the Neptune Fountain, a work from the 1500s.
